Born on the 15th of May 1967, Madhuri Dixit is among those Indian actresses who became the predominant face of Bollywood for almost a decade between the 1980s and 1990s. Coming from Maharashtra, Madhuri was initially more inclined towards the sciences and wanted to be a micro-biologist. However, as her dance training started attracting her, showbiz became her dream. Madhuri's first Bollywood movie was Abodh in 1984. The film was minorly successful and got Madhuri roles in a number of other films. Despite many roles, Madhuri hit success only four years later, in 1988, when she acted in Tezaab opposite Anil Kapoor.
