I need to escort Amrita: Harman

Adding fuel to rumours of an affair with Amrita Rao, actor Harman Baweja played the perfect escort to his Victory co-star at a promotional event at a jewellery shop.

"Where's Amrita? I need to escort her; otherwise she will get crammed with people," Harman told officials at the event.
The actors were at a jewellery showroom and fans were eagerly waiting for them outside the shop to get autographs. It was then that Harman caught hold of Amrita's hand and led her away from the crowd.

This news comes close on the heels of a number of suggestions that all is not well between Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja as he may be a little too close for comfort with Amrita.

This may be cause for worry for Priyanka because Amrita has had a track record of being blamed for the break-ups of her co-stars, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena being the last ones she was accused of coming in between.

Juhi, Rishi back after after 12 years

In Luck By Chance Juhi Chawla was reunited with her favourite co-star Rishi Kapoor after 12 years. She says that he has changed in the last few years, becoming more flexible, but is still grumpy.

"He has changed. Not counting the delayed Karobaar, the last time we worked together was in Daraar in 1996. It was always fun working with him, though he was always grumpy and that hasn't changed. Now he's far more flexible and thoroughly enjoying himself. But otherwise he's still the same. He still shouts at me and everyone on the sets. That's Chintuji."

But Juhi was shocked to see the change in Rishi in other ways. "Earlier, when we did all those films like Bol Radha Bol and Eena Meena Deeka there was no question of shooting in the night. So when there was night shoot for Luck By Chance, I said, 'Oh, Oh, here comes trouble. I'll agree. But knowing Chintuji... he will never agree.' But he shocked me. He continued shooting in the night even after I packed up, with no sign of grumpiness."

"He used to be so fastidious about the timings. He'd shoot completely by the clock, and then leave not a minute before or after. Now he's far more flexible."

The actress plays a cameo in Zoya Akhtar's Luck By Chance. "I play Chintuji's loud Punjabi wife, a loud wannabe socialite. I wear garish clothes and makeup. I've even coloured my hair a bright blonde. It was fun. But just a guest appearance."

Juhi admits she hasn't been able to keep up with her friends in the industry, including Rishi Kapoor. "I live in South Mumbai now. It takes a good two hours to get to Juhu-Andheri. I just can't do it. For work I can go anywhere, but not to socialise."
Juhi will now be seen on television. But only as a judge on the new season of the reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.

"Luckily, I'm not expected to change into some aggressive creature for the show. They told me I don't have to act, just be myself and the participants aren't dancers to begin with. But that's okay. I don't know how to judge participants. We'll learn on the job."

It's Priyanka vs Kareena again.

Now that Shyam Benegal has decided to revive his costliest project Chamki, a desi version of French musician Georges Bizet's 1875 opera Carmen, the question is who will play the title role of a free-spirited fiery-tempered gypsy in the movie?
According to sources, Priyanka Chopra more than Kareena Kapoor is the natural choice to play Chamki since the role requires a trained dancer. Priyanka said that she was open to the offer. "But I had read the script ages ago. The whole project now has to be evaluated afresh. And who wouldn't want to work with Shyam Benegal?"
Chamki has been pending for a while. Earlier, the project was with Sanjay Gupta. Now, Big Pictures is producing the film.
In the past too, both Priyanka and Kareena were approached for Chamki, but they opted out for various reasons. "Kareena was excited to begin with. She was supremely charged by the role. But then she opted out - as she often does from offbeat challenges like Deepa Mehta's Water and Rituparno Ghosh's Raincoat - pleading it was too early for her to attempt something so unconventional," said a source close to the project.
"Then came Priyanka, who was quite kicked about the part, but she and the film's then producer Sanjay Gupta had a fallout after Priyanka said no to his Musafir. The Chamki role then went to Urmila Matondkar, who had monetary issues with the producer."
With the film changing producers, it is understood that money is no longer an issue. While Priyanka is still interested in the project, Kareena's views were not yet known. "Kareena continues to have reservations about non-mainstream cinema. Barring Pritish Nandy Communications' Chameli, she has never returned to non-mainstream cinema," said the source.
Chamki, set in Rajasthan, is being re-designed as a big broad epic musical with choreography and lavish songs by Javed Akhtar and A R Rahman.

Hrithik, Barbara Mori disappear underwater

Hrithik Roshan's upcoming flick Kites is in the news for the most controversial reasons. The story seems nothing out of the ordinary, but it is the heated love scenes between the leading man and Latino babe Barbara Mori that have got everyone's attention.
The cast of Kites has travelled far and wide to shoot the film - after New Mexico, Los Angeles and Las Vegas, the next shoot is scheduled for the Maldives for a passionate underwater love scene.
According to reports, Anurag Basu, the director of the film felt the beautiful beaches of the Maldives will be perfect for a love song between Hrithik and Barbara. After intense shooting for four days, they will be back in Mumbai.
Let's hope all the hype about the sensuality of the film doesn't get it into trouble with the censors or the moral police that is forever active in our country.

Kareena, Priyanka, Deepika sizzle together.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan roped in Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone for item songs in Billu Barber and the three actresses agreed to do the numbers because they have a point to prove to naysayers.

"My song with Shah Rukh is awesome. Shah Rukh and I have done an item song before. So, we share the required vibes," said Kareena. Her Yeh mera dil track with the superstar in Don - The Chase Begins Again was talked about for months.

Kareena, however, was criticised for her dress and weight in the song. Even the remixed version of the song lacked verve, many thought. This time Kareena wants every component in the item song to be perfect.

Farah Khan, who had choreographed the Yeh mera dil number in Don, was replaced by a brand new choreographer. "He is Prasanna, a choreographer from south. And what innovative movements he has given to Pritam's song is just amazing! I think I've always been lucky with my item songs. Whether it was Yeh mera dil, or It's rocking, they've always rocked. The fact that mine is the first song to be in the promos does say something," said Kareena.

Though Kareena refused to talk about the money, she said: "Saif and I both love Shah Rukh and his wife Gauri. They're like family."

Priyanka, on the other hand, wants to prove that she is the biggest Shah Rukh fan despite the fact that the superstar didn't ask her to be part of the song Phir milenge chalte chalte in his recent hit Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The song had Kajol, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji, Bipasha Basu and Lara Dutta.

"I'm his biggest fan," said Priyanka. "There's no way I'd say no to him for anything. All he had to do was to ask and I was on. In fact, people ask me why I wasn't there in the song featuring all the heroines with Shah Rukh in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. Actually, I wasn't asked. If I was, do you think I wouldn't be in the song?"

Deepika's item song is choreographed by Farah Khan, thereby ending talks of a fall-out with the director-choreographer during the making of Om Shanti Om. "I don't know why there's all this talk of fall-out. I'm very fond of Farah and she of me. We can never fall out."

With all three Bollywood hotties vying to be in Shah Rukh's good books, the item songs in Billu Barber are bound to be the film's USP.

John is the sexiest, says Bipasha.

Bipasha Basu is quite pleased with John Abraham's success in Dostana and says that the label of the 'sexiest' Asian man for him pleases her even more.

"There has to be one person who's the sexiest every year. In 2007, Eastern Eye voted me the sexiest. In 2008, it's John. If they didn't vote him the sexiest they'd look really foolish. I mean John is the hottest. No one is going to look hotter than him for a long time. And I'm not saying that because I'm in a relationship with him," said Bipasha.

Asked how she felt about John flaunting his well-toned body in Dostana, Bipasha said: "Ranbir Kapoor showed his bum in Saawariya. How come no one raised any eyebrows? It was not so drastic with John.

"He has a fantastic body. If a woman on a beach is appreciated, why not a man on the beach? If you are comfortable with your body and you can carry it off with grace like John did, why not? I'm proud of what John has achieved. I've been with him from the time we shot Aetbaar and Jism. We started dating while shooting for Aetbaar."

Bipasha, who turned 30 Wednesday, said she was really proud of her bikini shot in Dhoom 2.
"At no point did I look cheesy. There was no heaving thrusting. It was just a healthy shot of a woman on the beach. Incidentally, I came out of the water in 'Jism' wearing a thick white dress. Such was the impact that people think I wore a bikini."

Bipasha said she was pretty happy with her achievements last year. "It's been a fantastic year for me, both personally and professionally. Family is great. Boyfriend is great. Everything is fine. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

"I'm actually surprised the year went so well. I even got time to watch my niece and nephew grow. Yes, I've spent one more beautiful year productively."

Told that she needs to have children of her own, Bipasha said: "No, no I don't have the patience for kids. I can't bear to have my seven-year-old nephew around for more than two hours. He's a talkative brat.

"My one-year-old niece is an item number. She dances superbly to the worst songs. So, yes, another actress coming up in my family. And she's the first light-eyed fair-skinned Basu girl in the family." The actress is currently shooting for Rahul Dholakia's hard-hitting drama Lamhaa.

All's not well between Deepika and Ranbir.

Everything doesn't seem to be well between Deepika and Ranbir, the much hyped love birds of tinsel town. The leggy beauty was recently spotted with a mystery man in a multiplex watching Ghajini.

Grapevine has it that Deepika is pretty miffed with the much talked about closeness between Ranbir and his new co-star Katrina Kaif.

Recently there was news about Deepika paying a surprise visit to her beau on the sets of Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani. Rumour has it that Ranbir didn't take this very sportingly and saw it as an attempt to spy on him and Katrina while the actors were shooting in Goa.

Deepika, after her previous link-ups seemed to be going steady with Ranbir Kapoor. The sultry beauty, awating her next release Chandini Chowk to China, was also heard telling the media that she wants to be Mrs Kapoor in 4 years.

Well, we don't know which way the wind will blow after 4 years but currently it seems to be choppy weather for the love birds of Bollywood.

Salman, Katrina's adventure in the night.

Salman Khan seems to have a wild streak for sure. Recently, the most celebrated shirt-dropper of Bollywood, surprised his ladylove Katrina by an unusual ride in the middle of the night.
The lovers (yes, still together despite the rumours) dined at the chic Olive restaurant well past midnight during the weekend and when they walked out after 1 am, Salman decided to try his hand at driving.

He picked up an auto-rickshaw from the street and the driver was more than happy to hand over his keys to the actor. Salman zoomed across the deserted streets of Mumbai followed by Katrina and the auto-driver in his car.

Of course, this was not Salman's first ride in the three-wheeler. Having done it a couple of times in the past as well, the superstar has by now acquired a good control over the vehicle. Katrina must have been amused by her beau's midnight adventure, but it's the rickshaw driver who must have been the most thrilled after having sat shoulder-to-shoulder in a car with India's most googled celebrity and Asia's sexiest woman!

Wow, what a start to the new year for the autorickshaw driver!

Well, what Katrina would have really made of this all, only she would know, we aren't even guessing!

Don't miss:Salman, Katrina come too close

Bollywood's dusky beauty Deepika Padukone and Chinese Look.

Bollywood's dusky beauty Deepika Padukone's complexion has been lightened by three shades to suit her Chinese look in the film Chandni Chowk To China, says stylist Mallika Bhat.

"Deepika has a dusky skin tone. In Chandni Chowk To China, she plays two different roles - one with a Chinese look and the other with an Indian look. We worked on her complexion for both the looks," said Bhat.

"For the Chinese look we gave her a three shades lighter complexion than her original. Then we gave it a yellowish tinge that is typical with Chinese people and teamed it with sharp and prominent make-up."

"For the Indian look, we gave her a shade darker in terms of complexion, used her normal hair and gave slightly over-the-top make-up but nothing extraordinary," she added.

Bhat, who is responsible for Deepika's Chinese eyes and poker-straight fringed hair in the film, says working on the actress' look was difficult, as she does not fit the bill of a Chinese girl easily.

"It was a very challenging task. Director Nikhil Advani had briefed me very specifically about the look that he wanted Deepika to flaunt in the film. But Deepika was not an easy girl for it.

"She has a dusky complexion, large, almond-shaped eyes and long eyelashes that are totally opposite to what Chinese women look like. So I had to kind of work against nature to get the right look for her," explained Bhat.

A lot of research went behind Deepika's Chinese look in the film. Most often in Bollywood, stylists settle for cosmetic tapes at the end of each eye to give the Chinese look to actors, but Bhat says it wasn't a feasible option because Deepika's doctors had advised her against their use.

"Cosmetic tapes would have been very painful for Deepika. She would have to keep them on for the 10-12 hours of shooting. It is one of the easiest ways to get that Chinese look, but it was not feasible and totally out of question to expect Deepika to wear it for 60-70 days of shooting," said Bhat.

To overcome this, Bhat created the look using eyeliner. "I gave her a slightly slanted and curvy eyeliner to make her eyes look narrow. We gave her light shade contact lenses besides working upon her eyelashes also."

To enhance the look, Deepika was made to wear a specially cut wig with "poker straight and rebonded hair".

"Indians have thick hair, but in China they have fine hair; so that aspect also had to be kept in mind. I got the wig cut by celebrity hair stylist Ryan D'Rozario," said Bhat.
The 23-year-old actress also sports long fringes as a result of the stylist's research on Chinese women. She revealed that nearly 80 per cent of youth there flaunted fringes or horizontal bangs. "It gives the person a very Oriental look," she said.

According to Bhat, it took her just four hours to decide upon Deepika's final look along with her team. After that, it took her team just half an hour to do up the Chinese look every time it was required.

Though Bhat says she isn't confident that she has got the look "bang on", she admits to having "managed to make Deepika look at least half-Chinese".

Releasing on Jan 16, Chandni Chowk To China also stars superstar Akshay Kumar in the lead. The action-adventure-comedy is about an Indian cook who goes to China and has many adventures. Deepika plays Akshay's love interest in the film.

Bollywood beauty Bipasha Basu, who turned 30 today

She came into the limelight with her coffee bean complexion in Ajnabee and was called a scorcher for her skin show in Jism. But Bollywood beauty Bipasha Basu, who turned 30 today, has now moved on from being just a sex icon and is signing on mature roles.
Voted the Sexiest Asian woman in 2007 by the British weekly newspaper Eastern Eye, the starlet of films like Rudraksh, No Entry, Omkara and Dhoom 2 is taking steps towards signing on for serious roles.
"If I don't like what's being offered, I won't sign anything (any more)," Bipasha had earlier said in an interview.
Her stint with arthouse movie started with Prakash Jha's 2005 political drama Apaharan. He presented her in a deglamourised role, but it was Ajay Devgan who had an author-backed role.
Bipasha's first meatier role was in Madhur Bhandarkar's critically acclaimed 2006 film Corporate. She proved her mettle and both critics and audiences applauded her performance. She was nominated for the Filmfare Best Actress award.
Last year she did Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film Shob Charitro Kalponik and is currently doing Sudipto Chattopadhyaya's Pankh and Rahul Dholakia's Lamhaa.
Despite churning out fewer hits and more misses, the actress, who entered filmdom in 2001, constantly hogged the limelight, thanks to her oomph factor.
Her long-awaited share of fame came in 2008 with hits like Race and Bachna Ae Haseeno. She is now breaking from convention and taking on new challenges.
For Lamhaa, Bipasha is all set to change the dynamics of physical appearances of a Kashmiri girl.
"When you think of a Kashmiri girl in our movies, what comes to mind is a fair-skinned, light-eyed girl. But I want to disprove that myth. The pre-conceived notions have to be overcome," said Bipasha.
The actress is bent on looking convincing in the role and had even invited a Kashmiri woman to Mumbai in order to study her body language, speech patterns and mannerisms to get into the character.
"I think I'm going to be more keen on getting it right than the director. I've never done a film like this before. The role requires me to be someone else altogether."
"And for this I needed help. I wanted to play the character the way girls really are today in Kashmir. Very basic," explained the actress, who is dating Bollywood hunk John Abraham.
Unlike other actors, Bipasha is not very keen to try her luck in Hollywood. "No filmmakers of Hollywood are willing to sign any Bollywood actor without a screen test apart from Aishwarya Rai. They seem to know no Hindi film actors, not even Amitabh Bachchan. I found out that I will have to start again (there) from scratch like screen tests and other tantrums. They treat you like a newcomer. So I've decided to stay in Mumbai and be the 'queen' here," she had said.
"India is a very comfortable place for us because we have already made a niche here. So why would anyone want to go and struggle there? I don't want to go and struggle. I have gone through my struggle." Her other future projects include Aa Dekhen Zara and Freeze.

Katrina Kaif on the men in her life

Katrina Kaif on the men in her life, She's only too happy to talk about her men onscreen.

SALMAN KHAN
My first film Maine pyar Kyun Kiya was with him. The first shot I did with him was the scene where he presents me with a sari. Then he covers my head with it and says he wants me to meet his mother. And I joke,”Can I wear a bikni underneath the sari?” I gave that shot and he turned to David (Dhawan) saying I'll need to pay more attention to my job. That was his way of saying that I was good. I felt nice but franckly. I was very nervous of facing the camera with him. I was very awkward initially but still I had a great time on the sets. I remember I met Farah Khan for the first time there. She gave me important tips on how to survive in the industry. Working with Salman is different ballgame altogether. He's so chilled out on the sets, he lets everyone just be. I've never seen any actor trust his director so implicitly. He would never try to unnecessarily give me tips. Maybe because he's worked with so many actresses and he's seen it all.I envy his chilled out attitude. It works for him. I don't think I can follow him on that count. I remember the reporting time on David Dhawan's set would be 10 o'clock. I would be there on the dot, obviously. There was no other way for me. But Salman had no intentions of coming on time. And the regular scene would go like this. He would walk in late on the set.The unit guy would come asking for him, 'Bhai kahan hai?'And his spot boy would say, 'Bhai naha rahe bain. 'And that would go on for half an hour. Then the unit guy would come looking for him again. And his spot would say, 'Bhai coffee pi rahe hain.' That would take another half an hour. Then the unit guy would come back asking for Salman again. And he would be told, 'Bhai make-up kar rahe hain.' That meant another one and a half hour gone. Then after two and a half hours he would venture out of his room and sit wit h the director discussing the scene. That's another half an hour gone. Then there would be another round of coffee. Another half an hour. After three and a half hours he would finally come on the sets. I would be amazed at the goings on. But no one would raise an eyebrow. I guess this was normal. But once he came on the sets, he'd be all there afid finish the quota of work. There would be no complaints. My offscreen relationship with him hasn't really affected our working relationship. Because very early in the game I realised that you must leave everything outside when you walk on to the set. Nothing matters here except the character you play.

AKSHAY KUMAR
HE FIRST time I met Akshay Kumar was on the sets of Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. I was barely 19 then and a complete outsider to the industry. I didn't know the director Raj Kanwar, or Akshay. So much so that even my staff was new. Raj Kanwar had insisted that I try out a new hairdresser and make-up person. I felt so lonely and nervous. Just then this tall brooding guy walked up to me and said, 'Hello'. Before I could say something, he pointed to his goatee and asked me whether it looked good on him.! remember nodding nervously. Then we did our first shot and he appreciatively told me I was good. After that shot, he looked the other way the entire day. We didn't exchange a single word. The same story was repeated on the second day. And I felt so lost on the set because no one was talking to me. Later in the afternoon I came back to my van and bawled my eyes out. I felt so alone. My hairdresser, Promila, who had been in the business for quite a while saw me crying and asked me what the matter was. When I told her, she said that things would become all right eventually. On the third day, I came on the sets and to my surprise, both Raj Kanwar and Akshay were there to greet me.They were so effusive that I couldn't believe my ears. I saw Promila's head bobbing in the background and I realised she must have spoken to them. Then the two told me they didn't know me well so they had kept their distance. They thought I was a snob and didn't like mingling with anyone. But after that Akshay was an absolute gentleman. Believe me, Akshay is an excellent co-star. He never makes you feel incompetent. He's always encouraging, making you believe in yourself. We/come was our second film and we were joking and laughing throughout the film. Then came Namastey London. For me, it was a transition period. By then I thought I knew a few things about acting. So I wanted to experiment. And he was like, 'If you want to experiment then at least do it the right way.' He would chide me for doing certain things, so there was a lot of friction between us.I've done four films with him. But I must say that he still doesn't make small talk with me. He's never called me, we never socialise. We only spend time together when Twinkle is also on the set I get along very well with her, and we have a great time together. Beyond that there's no communication with him.The only other time I bonded with him was when he had a British trainer, Jenny. She and I would sit in one corner and giggle like schoolgirls much to his amusement. Once in a while he'll ask me about my work, the movies I am doing. And he'll advise me to invest wisely. I know there has been too much talk about us. But frankly, we wouldn't have been able to do so many movies together if there was something between us.Thin would have been uncomfortable. And you can make out when something is amiss between two people. He scolds me affectionately when he thinks I'm i getting it right. The best part about Akshay is his unconditional love for his work. It amazes me how much hard work he puts in. He's so disciplined. No matter what time he sleeps, he's up at five ana exercising. No wonder he looks the way he does. I truly admire his dedication.

SAIF ALI KHAN
I ALWAYS feel that Saif AN Khan is more English than I am. He went to the Harvard school in England and his manners are so British. I often tell him that. He's so proper, such a gentleman. He knows how to treat a lady. We worked together in Race. And I was amazed by his energy levels, he has so much nervous energy. And he's always doing something. He simply can't sit still. He was so excited about doing Race that he told me it was like his own home production. I always believe that the hero's behaviour on the sets dominates its ambience. If the hero is sullen, it's not a nice atmosphere to work. But Saif brings such awesome vibes to the sets. He's always pushing and encouraging everyone and they in turn feel so charged. When we did the Touch me song, he told me he liked the way I worked. It felt nice to be appreciated. One thing I have noticed about Saif is his subtle and realistic acting. He's so natural in front of the camera. He's one of our best actors. If he were to do a Hollywood film, he'd definitely succeed there.

AKSHAYE KHANNA
HE'S ONE of the most naive and innocent actors around. He doesn't know how to be socially correct but he's a genuine guy. I like him the way he is. And what a mind-blowing actor! He's so natural, it's amazing. You know, I keep chattering all the time and he won't rush in to fill in the silences. He likes to keep to himself. So we really had a slightly awkward time on the sets in South Africa. It was one long outdoor and we had to find a way to connect. Otherwise it would have been killing. So someone came up with the idea of chess. And I guess Akshaye was only too happy to play. Because while it keeps your mind occupied it also keeps your mouth shut. I believe he was secretly happy playing with me because it meant he didn't have to listen to my non-stop talking. Must have been a relief for him. He can be a little moody and unpredictable. But he has a good heart. And once he takes to a person, he's very trusting. 1 genuinely like him.

BOBBY DEOL
BOBBY, I always maintain, is a reluctant star. He's a regular guy and the fact that he's a star is incidental. What struck me when I was working with him in Apne was his love for his family. I've never seen anyone else in the industry have that kind of emotional attachment with their family. And I respect that very much. In Apne, his eyes would well up with tears, each time he had to do an emotional sequence with his father or brother. He didn't need any glycerine for those scenes. I've known Bobby since my early days in Mumbai. Bobby and Tania used to be friends with a close friend of mine with whom I was staying.Tania would often take me to parties. Even then I was struck by how genuine Bobby is. He didn't have any attitude or airs. He just wants to be with his family and be happy.

SUNNY DEOL
I HAD seen just about three of his films before I met him. But believe me, they didn't prepare me for his magnetism. Bobby introduced me to him and I was awestruck. I didn't know what hit me. My jaw went slack and I didn't know what to say. So I started giggling like a schoolgirl. Bobby, who was standing nearby, elbowed me and whispered, 'Please shut your mouth, say hello and get out from here.' But I couldn't move. I was behaving like a retard. There's something mesmerising about his eyes. They entice you and leave you completely speechless. After that day, whenever he came on the set, I would greet him and start giggling. Because I wouldn't know what more to say to him. He is a man of few words. And Bobby would chide me saying I was such an embarrassment. But I was helpless. Those eyes, God those powerful eyes.

AMITABH BACHCHAN
WHEN I met him, I was just about 18 and didn't know a thing about filmmaking. I didn't even know what a camera looked like. It was the first day of shooting. The movie was Boom. I was sitting in a corner after giving a shot. He came up to and asked, 'You want to see your shot?'And I hesitantly told him that I wasn't allowed to see the shot. That the director had forbidden me to do so. He took me to the monitor and asked everyone to make way for me. And he showed me my shot. That was the first time I saw myself on screen. It felt strange. Amitabh Bachchan has an unmatchable aura about him. You can't miss it. He's a man of few words but what a presence he has. Whenever I interacted with him on the sets, he was very supportive. He always told me I would do well in the industry. That was something coming from him.

ABHISHEK BACHCHAN
HE'S SUCH a chatterbox. He'd be constantly talking on the sets of Sarkar. I guess I found my match in him. He comes across as a guy who loves life and is genuinely lovable. I didn't have much to do in Sarkar.\ had only 15 days of work with him but I enjoyed myself immensely. It was a great experience working with him. Because he's one actor who knows his job. And that helps the co-star tremendously. Unfortunately I didn't really get to know him well.

SOHAIL KHAN
I WORKED with him in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. And I remember he didn't know how to approach his character. So he sat down to discuss it with David Dhawan the director. And to my amazement, within a few minutes, he'd picked up the threads of his character. He was so natural thereafter, playing the underdog with that slight touch of comedy. Main Pyar Kyun Kiya happens to be my favourite film of his. When he was producing Partner, he told me I had to be in it. He worked everything out so that I could be part of the film. Sohail is a good guy; you can see his goodness in his eyes. And he isn't affected by anything around him. He's very sorted, very clear in his head as to what he wants. He doesn't suffer from any identity crisis just because Salman is a huge star. He's Salman's biggest supporter. And he is always there for him. Sohail is a sweetheart, a genuine person. I truly love him.

GOVINDA
THANKS TO his humble origins,Govinda has a certain knowledge of the masses, a certain connect with them. He knows what they want and he also knows how to deliver it. He has been there, done that so there's a certain freedom in his acting, in the way he approaches comedy. No one, and I mean no one, can do comedy like he does. Working with him, I've realised how important it is to know your language, to know your lines. Because once you're comfortable with the language you can be flexible with your dialogue, improvise it the way you want to. I've seen him do that so often with amazing results. He's so uninhibited in front of the camera. That would amaze me on the sets of Partner. He's a master, an absolute genius when it comes to acting. Incidentally, he's the first actor I saw in flesh. I was new to India and my sister had come down to visit me. She wanted to see a shooting. And we went on Govinda's set. Even then he blew me away with his powerhouse talent. Govinda and Salman share a very warm bonding and that's what came across so well in Partner. I must say I've learnt a lot from Govinda.
